Welcome! I am Emily Worthy, PhD, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been serving the Brazos Valley for 14 years. I am dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges, heal from past experiences, and build a meaningful, fulfilling life.
My Philosophy
I believe that therapy is a truly collaborative process. You are the expert on your own life, and I bring the clinical expertise to help you achieve your goals. Together, we will create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
My Approach & Specializations
My practice combines evidence-based treatments with a compassionate, client-centered focus. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, primarily utilizing:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To help you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.
- Mindfulness-Based Techniques: To ground you in the present moment and cultivate self-compassion and emotional resilience.
- Trauma Recovery (CPT): I am formally trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a highly effective, structured approach designed to help you process and heal from trauma and PTSD.
- Couples Therapy: I provide couples counseling rooted in the Gottman Method to help partners improve communication, deepen intimacy, and manage conflict constructively.
- Presurgical Evaluations: I provide psychological evaluations prior to bariatric surgery.
